Empirical Study On The Impact Of Information Technology Application On Supplier Performance

The emergence and application of digital technology can solve many major challenges faced by manufacturing enterprises in supply chain management,such as extremely personalized demand and rapidly changing supply-demand relationships.With the application of advanced digital technology,enterprises can deepen cooperation with suppliers,integrate and optimize production processes,shorten production cycle and improve supply chain operational efficiency.The application of digital technology in supply chain management subverts and deepens the relationship among manufacturers,customers and suppliers.The isolated and individually optimized business processes,systems and resources used by the manufacturing industry in the past can now be transformed into fully integrated information flow,logistics and capital flow.Supply chain digitalization has received more and more attention in practice and research.Many enterprises are discussing and planning the digitalization transformation of supply chain management.However,regarding the impact of new information technology on supply chain performance,the existing research pays more attention to its impact on core enterprise performance,pays less attention to the difference between supply chain digitalization and supply chain informatization,and ignores the important impact of supplier participation on supply chain digitalization transformation,as well as the impact of different buyers' dependence on application effect.By analyzing the transaction data of "Platform X" of China's leading cloud SRM(Supplier Relationship Management),this paper attempts to explore whether the application of digital supply chain management platform has different effects on the service performance(on-time delivery rate and response rate)and working capital turnover performance(settlement ratio and settlement cycle)of suppliers under the influence of different dependence on suppliers.The research results show that the higher the application level of SRM cloud platform,the higher the service performance(delivery on time rate and response on time rate)of suppliers,and the shorter the settlement period,there is no influence on the settlement ratio.With the increasing dependence of core enterprises on suppliers,the positive impact of SRM cloud platform application on supplier service performance is weakened,and the negative impact on settlement cycle is also weakened,with no impact on settlement ratio.This shows that information flow will promote the flow of logistics and capital flow.The process from information flow to logistics is affected by the buyer's dependency,while the process from information flow to capital flow is only affected by the buyer's dependency.This paper reveals the relationship among information flow,logistics and capital flow,deepens the research on supplier performance and supply chain finance in the digital era,and provides theoretical basis and practical enlightenment for promoting suppliers to apply SRM cloud platform to improve their service performance and working capital turnover performance.
