Chinese cruise industry has experienced a stage from germination to development, with significant changes in industrial structure and spatial layout. There are more qualitative analysis on industrial characteristics and trend evolution, while empirical research on spatial organization mechanism is rare.Based on the industry chain theory, this paper defines the concept of cruise industry chain, and divides the cruise industry chain into four links with cruise operation as the core: design and manufacturing, operation management, operation supporting and consumption service.Based on the idea of geographic correlation scale,a globalization-regional analysis framework is constructed.Statistical analysis and spatial analysis are carried out on the structural succession and spatial layout evolution of Chinese cruise industry, and reveals the regularity of the spatial layout of the cruise industry based on the theory of industrial agglomeration.Under the guidance of location theory, this paper explores the influencing factors of spatial differentiation of regional cruise industry layout, and explains the internal mechanism of its evolution. The results show that: 1)the number of cruise companies in China is growing rapidly, and the industry chain is gradually improving, but the structural evolution is slow, the proportion of downstream companies is large, and the proportion of upstream and downstream links is small;2)the layout of cruise companies shows significant spatial autocorrelation,of which Shanghai and Jiangsu are the first Significant “high-high”clusters were formed, which later became Shanghai and Hainan, then Hainan and Fujian, and Xinjiang,Qinghai,Tibet, and Gansu became low-low clusters, and the remaining provinces and cities were not significant;3)the spatial layout of cruise enterprises gradually extends from the coast to the inland, showing a spatial trend of evolution from single-core aggregation to dual-core;4)the overall layout of the cruise industry is strongly geographically related, with the highest correlation between operations management and design and manufacturing companies. The correlation between consumer services and operations management, design and manufacturing companies issecond, and the correlation between operations and other industrial chain links is relatively low;5)cities and areas with good transportation accessibility are the main choices for the layout of cruise companies. For cruise operation management, design and manufacturing enterprises, their layouts show the characteristics of the proximity to the cruise port terminal and the location of the main shipyard;6)the coastal, professional cruise terminal is a significant factor in the development of the cruise industry. From the perspective of spatial evolution trends, the influence of consumer market potential factors and cargo transportation convenience factors has increased, while the influence of regional economic development level on operating facilities and consumer service companies has shown a downward trend;7)there are interactive effects among various influencing factors. It is represented as a nonlinear enhancement type and a two-factor enhancement type.In general, the interaction of most influencing factors increases with time, but when it comes to different links, the types and significance of the interaction of each influencing factor are slightly different.
