Under the background of economic globalization, the level of international division of labor is deepening.Global Production Networks(GPNs),explaining the global product division of labor and new changes of the world's production organization pattern, become a front-burner issue in the economic geography research.Since the 1990s,exchanges between both sides of the Taiwan straits in the field of economy, society and culture are increasingly frequent, particularly leading to build a spatial correlation network based on exchanges of substance, energy and information through cross-border,Taiwan-funded enterprises, which occupies an increasingly important position in promoting cross-strait economic and social development. It provides a good opportunity for the study on cross-border production networks independently building by newly industrialised countries(or regions)in undeveloped countries(or regions),which not only reflects the general characteristics of cross-border production networks, but also highlights some particularities related to the changing situation in both sides of the Taiwan straits. At the same time, the study on the spatial analysis of cross-border production networks of Taiwan-funded enterprises in Mainland China would expand and enrich the research category and method of GPNs,would be a beneficial attempt to integrate and develop theories on GPNs,enterprise geographic, relational economic geography and complex model, which to some extent has a certain academic value and significance.t can also provide experience for China to realize the strategy from integrating into GPNs to the constructing the secondary global production networkindependently. From the perspective of Economic Geography,spatial-temporal evolution and spatial organization on Taiwan-funded enterprises and its cross-border production networks in mainland Chinais is analyzed in the study.First of all, this paper defines the importance of Taiwanese investment in cross-strait economic development under the background of global, further advances necessity and significance of the research on Taiwan investment in mainland China. Then three types of manufacturing(electronic information, machinery and petrochemical industry),producer services are choosed as typical cases, weemploysthe macro and micro data, especially 11853 Taiwanese manufacturing and producer services enterprises, combines with the use of descriptive statistical analysis, coefficient of variation, correlation analysis,ESDA,principal component analysis, correlation analysis, panel data model to describe spatial-temporal evolution, spatial organization and theirdriving mechanismson Taiwan-funded enterprises and its cross-border production networks in mainland China.Thereafter,924 mother-childcommunicationenterprises in both sides of the Taiwan Straits,518Taiwan-fundedlisted electronic information enterprises,12 typical Taiwan-funded enterprises in Fujian province are collected toreveal spatial organizationmodeland its rules of Taiwan funded cross-border production networks based on the complex network model, case analysis,in-depth research and interview, from the perspectives of corporate mother-childcommunication,manufacturing value chain and the integration of manufacturing and producer services respectively.
