The sustainable livelihood of farmers is the focus of the current poverty alleviation work, the work on agriculture, rural areas and farmers after poverty alleviation.Entrepreneurship is an important livelihood strategy to improve farmers‘ sustainable livelihood. And it is also an effective means for the government to activate the vitality of the rural economy and solve the problems of poverty, return to poverty and relative poverty. In this context, research on the driving mechanism of farmers‘ sustainable livelihood based on entrepreneurship has certain reference value for the future development of agriculture, rural areas and farmers.Based on the sustainable livelihood framework, this paper uses entropy weight method, binary logistic regression method and structural equation model to explore the driving mechanism of farmers‘ sustainable livelihoods. The research is divided into two stages: livelihood strategy selection stage and entrepreneurial stage. In the livelihood strategy selection stage, based on the data from 363 farmer household questionnaires in Zhangbei County,a comprehensive evaluation of livelihood capital was conducted to explore the impact of livelihood capital on livelihood strategy. The research of this stage aims to answer what are the key factors that affect farmers' livelihood strategy choices and how do they affect. In the entrepreneurial stage, taking entrepreneurial farmers as the research object, this paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the mechanism and path of the impact of policy support environment and entrepreneurial ability on farmers' livelihood outcomes. The research of this stage aims to answer the factors that affect farmers' livelihood results and what are the influence paths. The main work and conclusions of this paper can be summarized as follows: First, establish a livelihood capital evaluation index system of farmers and evaluate livelihood capital. The results show that the farmer households have the largest social capital stock, the physical and human capital stocks are at the middle and upper levels, and the natural capital and financial capital stocks are low.Second, analyze the impact of livelihood capital on the choice of livelihood strategy using a binary logistic regression model. The results show that the quality of arable land in natural capital, the value of livestock and whether it owns production vehicles in physical capital, the health of the workforce and whether they have a certain skill or craft in human capital, whether they participate in cooperative organizations in social capital and agricultural income in financial capital significantly positively affect farmers' entrepreneurial livelihood strategy choices.Third, use the structural equation model method to specifically explore how the policy support environment and entrepreneurial ability affect livelihood outcomes. The results show that the policy support environment has a significant positive impact on livelihood outcomes, specifically through the intermediary role of entrepreneurial performance, the chain of intermediary effects of entrepreneurial performance and entrepreneurial gain.Entrepreneurial ability significantly affects livelihood results, specifically through the separate intermediary of entrepreneurial performance, the separate intermediary of entrepreneurial gain, and the chained intermediary of entrepreneurial performance and entrepreneurial gain.Fourth, combining the above two stages of research, this paper reveals the driving mechanism of sustainable livelihood of farmers based on entrepreneurship.Based on the above research, this paper puts forward specific suggestions in terms of improving livelihood capital, creating a policy support environment and improving entrepreneurial capabilities, which are of great significance for assisting in the formulation of farmer entrepreneurial policies and promoting the sustainability of farmers ‘livelihoods.
