Nowadays, under the context of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation",entrepreneurship and innovation practices are booming in China. As China's economy enters the new normal phase, innovation has become the new impetus to boost China's economic and social development.Social entrepreneurship has unique advantages in solving social problems by providing the dual benefits of economic and social values.Originated from the western academic circles, social entrepreneurship has become a new research hotspot, whereas its practical values and theoretical contributions in promoting China's socio-economic development is still to be studied. Therefore, this study adopted the entrepreneurship factor analysis framework in the Timmons theory to examine the key factors that influence the social entrepreneurship process and explore the influence of entrepreneurial opportunities, teams and resources on the social entrepreneurship process.Based on the above analysis, this study then developed a systematic, scientific and localized social entrepreneurship process influence mechanism model. Finally, this study provided countermeasures and suggestions to promote the theoretical and practical development of social entrepreneurship from the perspectives of the social entrepreneurs, organization management and government. This study integrated quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis, and divided the main research into two parts. The first part used meta-analysis to explore the social entrepreneurship process quantitatively based on extensive collection of domestic and foreign social entrepreneurship research materials, then built the social entrepreneurship process influence factor framework with factors of opportunity, team, and resources. The second part employed the multi-case analysis with three typical types of social entrepreneurship processes as analysis objects and primary data collected from semi-structure interviews to refine the above framework, develop the social entrepreneurship process influence mechanism model based on the Timmons theory, and thereby improve the pertinence and integration of the research findings. The main conclusions of this study were as follows: firstly, the Timmons theory provided a unique and systematic theoretical framework for the identification of influence factors of social entrepreneurship process and for the construction of the influence mechanism of social entrepreneurship process.Secondly, social entrepreneurship opportunities, team characteristics and resource networks were the main influence factors of the social entrepreneurship process.Thirdly, based on the Timmons theory, the model of social entrepreneurship process influence mechanism was constructed with the key factors of the third person opportunity identification, the first person opportunity development,pro-social team and resource network.Fourthly,to improve the effect and quality of the social entrepreneurship process, social entrepreneurs, organizations and governments need to make contributions as main participants.Based on the Timmons theory and the systematic analysis of Chinese social entrepreneurship practice, this study helps to extend the research on social entrepreneurship factors from the perspective of dynamic view, enrich theoretical research findings of social entrepreneurship and provide reference for the quality improvement of social entrepreneurship practice.
