Mongolia is the second largest cashmere producer,processing country and trading country,cashmere industry has an important trade position.However,Mongolia's cashmere industry as a whole is large and weak,highly dependent on imports,cashmere trade deficit all the year round,and weak international competitiveness.With the advance of trade liberalization,Mongolia has implemented the global tariff quota management of cashmere to provide low tariff quota entry for foreign cashmere,and then signed bilateral free trade agreements with New Zealand and Australia,promising to provide country duty-free quotas for cashmere of origin in the two countries.With the continuous opening of Mongolian cashmere market to the outside world,Mongolian cashmere industry is facing a stronger international market.At the same time,it also provides a new research space for the international competitiveness and influencing factors of Mongolian cashmere industry.This paper first summarizes the cashmere production and trade between the world and Mongolia and the trade situation of Mongolian cashmere textile products,and then measures the international competitiveness of the world and Mongolian cashmere industry by using the international market share index,trade competitiveness index and display competitive advantage index.Then the influencing factors of Mongolian cashmere international competitiveness are analyzed qualitatively and systematically,based on Porter's "diamond model" combined with the characteristics of Mongolian cashmere industry itself,from six aspects: cost and price,production factors,market demand,cashmere related and auxiliary industries,management organization form and scale,government support policy,etc.,qualitative analysis of Mongolian cashmere industry from six aspects: cost and price,production factors,market demand,cashmere related and auxiliary industries,management organization form and scale,government support policy,and so on.Finally,the countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the international competitiveness of Mongolian cashmere industry are put forward.The main conclusions obtained in this paper are:(1)The international competitiveness of Mongolian raw wool is weak,especially the international competitiveness of the raw wool is weaker with the middle and the new ones,and the implementation of the MOFTA Free Trade Agreement becomes weaker;Mongolian cashmere strips have strong international competitiveness.The international market share and export competitive advantages are stronger than those of Australia and New Zealand.Although Mongolian cashmere has weak competitiveness,it has a considerable market share in the world market.(2)Mongolian cashmere industry has disadvantages in grassland resources,farming technology,labor quality,variety resources,etc.However,the upgrading demand of cashmere textile products can provide some opportunities.(3)strengthening the protection of improved varieties,the construction of forage supply system,improving the level of production technology,promoting international cooperation in cashmere trade,strengthening independent innovation and brand building to increase the added value of cashmere textile products are the key measures to improve the international competitiveness of Mongolian cashmere industry.
