With the advent of the era of knowledge economy and modularization,product innovation has been accelerating,it is the top priority for enterprises to improve the new product development efficiency.As an important driving force for the sustainable development of high-tech enterprises,innovation has become the key to the competitive success of enterprise.Knowledge is not only the source of innovation but also the core resource with the most strategic value for an enterprise.The competitive advantage of an enterprise will come from the effective management of knowledge,and the characteristics of knowledge will affect the process of its integration and application in the organization.Product modularization is the development trend of high-tech enterprises to improve production efficiency.How to effectively coordinate the complexity of knowledge and product modularization is of great importance to enterprises.Therefore,In the backdrop of a transformation economy,how high-tech enterprises influence the level of product modularization on the basis of their own knowledge complexity,to improve the efficiency of product innovation,is an important issue of enterprises development.On the basis of the previous researches,this paper analyzes the direct impact of knowledge complexity on product innovation performance of high-tech enterprises,expounds the concepts of loose coupling and interface standardization,and their mechanism of action in modular organization,measures the level of product modularity from these two dimensions and discusses the mediating effect of product modularity between knowledge complexity and product innovation performance.According to mechanism analysis,a theoretical model of the correlation among knowledge complexity,product modularity and product innovation performance was constructed.A detailed survey was conducted on 143 high-tech enterprises in the form of interviews and questionnaires.SPSS and AMOS structural equation model was used to analyze the questionnaire data,and verify the theoretical model.Results shows that the knowledge complexity has a positive and significant influence on product innovation performance,the knowledge complexity affects the loose coupling and the interface standardization siginificantly,standardization of interface has a positive effects on product innovation performance,the effect of loose coupling on product innovation performance is not significant,interface standardization plays a partial mediation role between knowledge complexity andproduct innovation performance.The above research results have important guiding significance for high-tech enterprises in knowledge,modular and new product R&D management practice.
