In recent years,with the stricter regulations on automobile emissions in China,most diesel engine manufacturers have taken the cleanliness performance as one of the key quality indicators for diesel engine parts and components.For B Company who is in high-speed developing phase,high pressure connector is the main product for automotive industry.However,cleanliness quality of high pressure connector has been the top one from customer claims in recent years,and it is also the main offender from internal failure cost analysis.Therefore,in order to reduce internal failure cost,to decrease customer claims and improve customer satisfaction,it is urgent for B Company to improve the quality of cleanliness for high pressure connector.The Article mainly describes the application of quality improvement tools and methods in quality improvement on cleanliness of high pressure connector.The improvement is based on the quality experiences from the author and quality management related theories,also refers to IATF16949 quality system and German Automobile Industry Association VDA19.1and VDA19.2 standards.The section of quality related theories in the article introduces the classic quality concepts,the essence of quality management ideas from quality masters,and the ISO9001 and IATF16949 quality system outlines,it provides theoretical basis for quality improvement.The article introduces high-pressure common rail system which high pressure connector applied and the production and quality status of high pressure connector,then fish-bone diagrams is applied to initially analyze the 5M1 E factors,to find out main quality factors of cleanliness.,it is the preparation for the quality improvement project.The quality improvement project follows PDCA principle.Planning phase,it firstly established an improvement team,afterwards,team define improvement plans.Do phase,it implements actions which defined in previously phase.Check phase,the improvement effects is evaluated to confirm whether the improvement goals meets or not.Act phase,it summarizes the improvement achievements and identifies the key factors of success and weak points,meanwhile,plan the next step for quality improvement.The research results is not only achieved goals,decreased customer claims and improved customer satisfaction,but also enhanced the cleanliness awareness of all employees.The accumulated cleanliness experience as fortune of B Company to be a goodbasis for winning more projects with cleanliness requirement in future.
