Pin co-planarity is one of the most key quality characteristics about slim and thin type connector, during mass production, there is more influence both on all kinds of parts and on all kinds of process factors. There are variation between different part cavities, and different producing period, even for the same cavity. This thesis aims to do a systemic analysis and improvement on co-planarity based on 6 sigma methodology, which includes all factors analysis, to find out the critical input variable and final corrective action is given out. Throughout this improvement, the scrap and the quantity of defective parts is reduced, the competitive strength is increased, the volume of business and profits is upgraded as well.This thesis is carried out from systemic analysis and improvement on all possible factors. Firstly, the weakness during previous trouble shouting is introduced, such as root cause could not be found effectively, or even the clues could be found out but can not be recovered because of technical bottleneck, no highly importance was placed on, etc. Secondly, the measurement system evaluation is conducted and process capability is confirmed as baseline, meanwhile, MCA and GRR is introduced as toolkit for measurement system evaluation. Finally, TAGUCHI experiment is executed to find out better interference, observation on housing short shot sample, flowing pattern simulation with Mold Flow software and mock up sample verification is all done to optimize the housing warpage.
