As an important promoter of organizational innovation and development,knowledge employees need to cope with increasing job requirements.Meanwhile,family responsibilities of employees are more and more serious with the prevalence of the aging of the population and dual-worker families.Increasingly difficult to coordinate work and family requirements has a negative impact on the performance of knowledge employees.How to effectively help employees balance work and family has become a major challenge facing the organization's human resources management.As a kind of family supportive resource,family-supportive supervisory behaviors(FSSB)is of great significance to help employees balance work and family and improve their work performance.However,relevant research is still in infancy and the relationship between FSSB and knowledge employees' innovative behavior remains to be explored.Based on resource conservation theory,identity theory and gender role congruence theory,the paper explore the effect of FSSB on knowledge employees' innovative behaviors,the mediating role of thriving at work in the effect,and the moderating effect of work-family centrality and on the relationship between FSSB and thriving at work among different gender.Based on the survey data of 548 knowledge employees,the research found that different factors of individual and enterprise background have effect on FSSB,thriving at work and innovation behavior.FSSB has a significant positive impact on innovation behavior.Thriving at work fully mediates the relationship between FSSB and employee's innovative behavior.Specially,the vitality and learning dimensions partly mediate that relationship.The moderating effect of work-family centrality is marginal significant.Work-family centrality only negatively moderates the relationship between FSSB and the learning of male employees.The paper reveals the effect mechanism of FSSB on knowledge employees' innovative behavior,and further clarifies the boundaries of this special supervisory behavior in the Chinese context,which enriches the research on FSSB and individual innovation.In practice,it provides a theoretical reference for organizations how to use family-supportive supervisory behaviors to improve employees' innovative behavior.
