“Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for the Development of Express Delivery Industry” issued by the State Post Bureau in 2017 proposed that a courier service network covering the whole country and connecting the world will be formed.In January 2019,the general office of the State Council issued the “Guiding Opinions on Carrying out In-depth Poverty Alleviation by Consumption to Help Win the Campaign against Poverty”,which also mentioned the need to further implement the project of deploying express delivery services to the countryside,improve the service network in poor areas,and encourage the cooperation between express delivery enterprises and agricultural enterprises,suppliers and retailer as well as trade entities.In the context of the continuous introduction of supporting policies,it is foreseeable that the market competition in the express delivery industry will intensify.After 27 years of continuous development,SF Holding Co.,Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as “SF Holding”)can not only provide high-quality logistics services at the distribution end,but also initially provide a package of solutions for customers.However,competing in such a fierce environment with the private-owned Tonglu-originated logistic enterprises,stated-owned EMS,E-commerce gaints such as Alibaba and JD and newly-entered international logistics companies such as DHL,Fed Ex and UPS,SF Holding has to constantly consolidate its advantages,take advantage of opportunities,identify and minimize external threats,and strive for early success in transforming into a leading integrated logistics service provider in the industry.Based on Michael Porter's competitive strategy,this paper first describes the current situation of the development of SF Holding,analyzing such existing problems in mismatched terminal facilities,the improvement of construction of international business channel and the channel security.Then PEST analysis method is adopted to analyze the external environment of SF Holding;Michael Porter's Five Forces Model is used to analyze the competitive environment of the whole industry;The internal environment of SF Holding is analyzed by analyzing enterprise's resources,capacity,culture and other factors.At last,the SWOT matrix is listed to clarify that the development opportunity of SF holdings is greater than the threat,and the advantage of the internal environment of the enterprise is also greater than the disadvantage,which means that SO strategy(development strategy)should be adopted by SF holdings.And through the analysis of the competitive strategy of SF holdings,a conclusion is secured that differentiation strategy should be adopted.The specific operation is to realize product differentiation,improve the supply chain and expand the international market,and put forward corresponding safeguard measures respectively from such five aspects as corporate culture,organization,human resources,finance and technology.The author cherishes the hope that by studying SF's competition strategy,the basic status quo of private-owned express delivery enterprises can be fully understood,thus urges our government and industry to formulate relevant laws and regulations,so that private-owned express delivery enterprises in China can develop healthily,orderly and rapidly,fully taking the competitive advantages of private enterprises,improving service quality,accelerating the growth of national express delivery brands,and gradually moving towards the international market.
