Accelerating the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry is the only way to promote China’s manufacturing power,also a strategic measure to achieve high-quality development and build a modernized economic system.In recent years,as China’s economy enters the stage of high-quality development,information technology and manufacturing industry are deeply integrated,which promotes the development of new manufacturing industry.The new trend of servitization of manufacturing industry has promoted the transformation of the development model of manufacturing industry.The deepening of innovation-driven development strategy has provided new impetus for the development of manufacturing industry.However,for a long time,the reliance on low-cost factor inputs has led to the increasing risk of China’s manufacturing industry falling into “low-end locking”,“being squeezed out of the value chain” and “Comparative advantage trap”,which has added difficulties to the transformation and upgrading.In the face of these opportunities and challenges,it is urgent to take improving the quality of the supply system as the main direction,constantly promote the supply-side structural reform to solve problems and seize opportunities,and lay a solid foundation for China’s high-quality development stage.However,deepening the reform of the supply side structural an important focus,should be on promoting structural transformation factor supply quality,etc.Therefore,research on factors structure change on the influence of the transformation and upgrading of China’s manufacturing industry,which has become a reality and urgent problem.In this paper,based on reviewing the related literature,investigates the factor structure from two aspects: factor endowment structure and factor allocation efficiency,and builds an analytical framework to study the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry from the perspective of factor structure.Firstly,based on the innovation-driven theory,specialization of division of labor theory,learning in doing theory and the theory of dynamic comparative advantage,this paper analyzes the general mechanism of the effect of factor endowment structure and factor allocation efficiency on the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry.Secondly,according to China industrial statistics yearbook and otherstatistical data,the evaluation index system of manufacturing transformation and upgrading is constructed from three dimensions of scale,structure and efficiency,and the index is calculated,so as to comprehensively reflect the transformation and upgrading progress and differences of China’s manufacturing industry.Thirdly,based on the definition of the factor structure,the factor endowment structure is calculated by capital deepening,and the factor allocation efficiency is measured by the SFA method,so as to comprehensively reflect the changing trend of the factor structure in the subdivided industries of China’s manufacturing industry.Finally,the author selects and calculates other relevant variables that can reflect the change of factor structure,constructs a dynamic panel model,and empirically analyzes the impact of the change of factor structure on the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry from the three levels of overall,different stages and industry heterogeneity by using the systematic GMM method.Based on the research,the following conclusions are drawn:First,the upgrading of factor endowment structure can effectively promote the transformation and upgrading of China’s manufacturing industry.Second,the effect of factor allocation efficiency on the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing is different in stages and industry heterogeneity.On the whole,the influence of factor allocation efficiency effect is not significant,which reflects that there are still many institutional and institutional obstacles restricting the free flow of factors in China’s market economy,and there are still multilevel factor mismatch phenomenon in the development of manufacturing industry.Based on the above conclusion,this paper proposes countermeasures and suggestions from two aspects of upgrading the factor endowment structure and improving the efficiency of factor allocation.By improving the quality of production factors,clarifying the relationship between the government and the market,and promoting the market-oriented reform of factors,we will correct mismatch of factors in the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing,and give play to the decisive role of market mechanism in the process of factor allocation.
