Industrial agglomeration is one of the forms of industrial spatial distribution.Enterprises,related enterprises,and scientific research institutions are concentrated in a certain area.The interaction and exchange between people promotes the spread and diffusion of knowledge in the area,and the resulting knowledge spillover effect promoted technological innovation.The manufacturing industry is the main part of the real economy,in which the technology-intensive manufacturing industry relies more on technological and intellectual factors than on other production factors.The west is an underdeveloped area,and there is a big gap between the economic development level of the east and the middle.Improving the technological innovation capabilities of the west is one of the main ways to promote economic development and narrow the regional gap.Technological innovation efficiency measures the efficiency of transforming the input of technological innovation into output,and it can effectively judge the technological innovation capability of each region.Industrial agglomeration and technological innovation are the combination of economy and science and technology.Studying the effect of technology-intensive manufacturing agglomeration on improving the efficiency of technological innovation in the west is of great significance for promoting regional coordinated development.The level of regional technological innovation efficiency reflects the sustainable development capability of a region.Based on the perspective of technology-intensive manufacturing agglomeration,the paper analyzes the technology spillover effect of industrial agglomeration and analyzes the technology-intensive manufacturing agglomeration on the technology of the western region.The impact of innovation efficiency improvement;this study selects the measurement indicators of industrial agglomeration and the measurement method of technological innovation efficiency,and analyzes the current situation of technology-intensive manufacturing agglomeration and technological innovation efficiency level in the western region;On this basis,a spatial error model is used to empirically analyze the spatial effect of technology-intensive manufacturing agglomeration on the improvement of technological innovation efficiency in the western region,and a comparative analysis between industries is carried out.According to the calculation results of location entropy and E-G index,from theperspective of provinces and regions,the distribution of technology-intensive manufacturing in the western region is mainly concentrated in the four regions of Chongqing,Sichuan,Shanxi and Guangxi,and the distribution of technology-intensive manufacturing industries is uneven.The concentration of technology-intensive manufacturing in the western provinces(cities and districts)is relatively low.The provinces(cities and districts)that are currently on the rise are Chongqing,Sichuan,Guizhou,Guangxi and Qinghai;from an industry perspective,technology-intensive manufacturing Among the seven sub-sectors of the industry,the highest concentration is transportation equipment manufacturing,and the lowest is pharmaceutical manufacturing.Technical personnel and fixed capital account for a larger proportion of transportation equipment manufacturing,and pharmaceutical research and development is more It requires cutting-edge technical talents and sufficient funds.Taking into account the factors of technological inefficiency and random errors,a stochastic frontier production model(SFA)beyond the logarithmic form was established,and technological innovation efficiency was measured in 11 provinces(cities and districts)in the west except Tibet.It was found that the technological innovation efficiency of Chongqing,Sichuan and Guangxi in the west is relatively high.The technological innovation efficiency of the remaining provinces and autonomous regions is lower than that of the western region.The technological innovation efficiency of the provinces(cities and districts)is basically continuously decreasing during the inspection period.At present,technological inefficiency generally exists in various regions in the west,and there is a large room for improvement.The study of constructing the spatial econometric model found that:the concentration of technology-intensive manufacturing in the western region helps to improve the efficiency of regional technological innovation;the low level of human capital in various regions of the western region has an inhibitory effect on the efficiency of technological innovation;expanding opening to the outside world and improving the level of financial development will help improve the efficiency of technological innovation in the west;due to the small and insufficient government support,it has inhibited the improvement of the efficiency of technological innovation in the west.Different types of manufacturing agglomeration have different effects on the efficiency of technological innovation in the west.Technology-intensive manufacturing agglomeration has the greatest effect on improving the efficiency of technological innovation in the western region,followedby capital-intensive manufacturing,labor-intensive manufacturing,and resource-intensive manufacturing industry.
