In recent years,the world economy is undergoing digital transformation,and the development of the digital economy has become a global consensus.E-commerce,as an important part of the digital economy,is one of the most active and concentrated forms of the digital economy.As an advanced form of e-commerce,cross-border e-commerce has grown much faster than the growth rate of China’s traditional foreign trade and has become a "new engine" to promote the high-quality development of China’s foreign trade.At present,the number of small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce companies in China is increasing year by year.Many traditional foreign trade companies have also begun to use cross-border e-commerce to promote the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade,showing strong entrepreneurial characteristics.However,because of their small size,lack of resources,or poor use of resources to conduct cross-border e-commerce businesses,many enterprises have performed poorly in the international market,which has hindered their internationalization process to some extent,small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce enterprises urgently need a certain strategic orientation to promote their internationalization process and ultimately improve their internationalization performance,which is of great significance to promote the rapid development of China’s cross-border e-commerce and foreign trade transformation and upgrading.From the perspective of international entrepreneurship,this article is based on existing research in the field of strategic management,it takes China’s small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce companies as research objects,and details the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation,adaptability and international performance.Specifically,this study uses International entrepreneurial orientation as a variable to characterize the international entrepreneurship characteristics of small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce enterprises.Based on the resource-based theory and dynamic capability perspective,it analyzes the mechanism of International entrepreneurial orientation’s different dimensions on international performance.The conclusion reached is as follows:(1)The three dimensions of international entrepreneurship orientation have a direct positive impact on international performance.Specifically,the international entrepreneurial orientation’s innovativeness,proactiveness and risk-taking have a direct positive impact on the internationalization performance of small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce enterprises.(2)The three dimensions of international entrepreneurial orientation not only have a positive and direct impact on internationalization performance,but also have an indirect positive impact on the internationalization performance of small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce enterprises through dynamic capabilities(adaptive capability).(3)The three dimensions of international entrepreneurial orientation,that is,innovativeness,proactiveness and risk-taking have a direct and indirect positive impact on the internationalization performance of small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce enterprises,but the relationship between them is independent.Compared with innovativeness and proactiveness,risk-taking promotes adaptive capability more strongly and compared with innovativeness and risk-taking,innovativeness promotes internationalization performance more strongly.Finally,based on the above conclusions,this paper proposes that small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce enterprises should rationally use their own resources to combine their unique advantages to improve their international entrepreneurial orientation and adaptive capability to promote their international performance.At the same time,this article also points out the direction for future research.
