Spatio-Temporal Characteristics Of Land Economic Density And Its Influencing Mechanism Of Counties In Jiangsu Province

Under the context of the transformation of principal contradictions,the problem of unbalanced and inadequate economic development has received widespread attention,and the contradiction between the rapid development of urbanization and scarcity of land resources has become increasingly prominent.However,extensive utilization and unscientific industrial structure further aggravate regional differences.Therefore,the path of narrowing regional economic differences has become an urgent need.Land economic density is a key indicator to measure regional development differences and optimizing the spatial distribution of land in the new era.Exploring spatio-temporal characteristics and driving factors of land economic density is of great significance for optimizing the land space and industrial layout and promoting the sustainable development of the national economy.The data was collected and pre-processed from 96 county-level administrative units in Jiangsu Province during 2006-2017.The spatial trajectory change of land economic density was simulated using regional economic center of gravity migration.Exploratory spatial data analysis(ESDA)summarized the spatial concentration of the type of county-level administrative unit in Jiangsu Province.The model of coefficient of variation(CV)and Theil index was ultilized to evaluate the evolution characteristics of land economic density.Then the rate of difference change and the period of convergence were analyzed by means of spatial econometric model.According to the results of multiple regression analysis and GWR Model,the influence degree of influencing factors was analyzed from the whole and the part.The main conclusions were as follows:(1)Land economic density in Jiangsu Province increased yearly from 2006 to2017.Jiangsu Province was divided into three parts,including South Jiangsu(SJ),Central Jiangsu(CJ)and North Jiangsu(NJ).As for temporal variation,the land economic density always showed the trend of SJ>CJ>NJ,while the order of growth rate was consistent with the numerical change.As for spatial variation,there was little changed for the overall pattern of land economic density distribution in Jiangsu.The centers of gravity of the economic density was located in Zhenjiang of SJ.Meanwhile,the change direction of the center of gravity moved 29.84km in the direction of west by north 56~o73'(Nanjing direction).Moreover,the agglomeration effect of local land economic density was significant,with the correlation increasing and the agglomeration types enriching.(2)The difference of land economic density was large,but the overall trends was narrowing in Jiangsu.The CV decreased from 2.01 to 1.79 in 2006-2017.The results of Thiel index displayed the internal differences in SJ accounted for more than half of the overall differences.Moreover,CJ had the smallest internal difference with no more than 10%.As for variation trends,the differences in SJ,CJ and the three regions all showed a decreasing trend,while the differences in NJ gradually increased.As for individual of NJ,CJ and SJ,the relative development rate was similar to the economic density value,but the trend of shrinkage was weak.(3)The Population Density(PD),Per Capita Gross Domestic Product(PCGDP)and Industrial Structure(IS)were determined as the significant factors of land economic density,by excluding non-significant factors and collinearity factors.Among them,PD and PCGDP were significantly positively correlated with land economic density,while IS was significantly negatively correlated,with the effect-level increased yearly.The results of local action showed that PD,PCGDP and IS had more significant effect regions,which were consistent with the characteristics and quantitative analysis.However,the significant action area of Foreign Investment Amount Actually Utilized(FIAAU),Revenue in the General Public Budgets(RGPB),and Capital Investment Intensity(CII)were less,and all of them had negative correlation and the action rules were insignificant.(4)Without considering the influencing factors analysis,the absolute?-convergence indicated a weak convergence trend for land economic density from2006 to 2017,with the convergence rate only 0.8433%.Moreover,it was consistent with the prediction of relative development rate.The convergence period for the low value region to surpass the high value region would be about 837.32 years.However,with the influence factors considered,the convergence model varied greatly,with the convergence rate increased to 6.338%and the half period of convergence shortened to109.36 years.The thesis has 18 figures,11tables and 132 references.
