The research presented here is a discussion on the historical make-up of community policing and the original methods of criminal control. From the Codes of Hammurabi to the modern day police, control objectives have changed. The integration of the Weed and Seed Program has brought new financial means to communities in need of help in eliminating criminal activity. The remaining research is based on results accumulated by the program run in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The statistics show distributions of funds seem to be inappropriately allocated and illustrate how criminal activity in the target area has gone virtually unchanged. |
