Abstract/Summary:
The adaptive sports field is diverse, exciting and fulfilling. It requires employees, volunteers and participants to think creatively to meet the needs of a population where each individual has a variety of needs based on her or his abilities. Throughout this thesis, the author describes the need for a professional association for people that work in the adaptive sports field. The author justifies this need through a review of the literature surrounding adaptive sports, what is currently available to professionals, as well as survey of adaptive sports professionals. Through this thesis project the author completed the needs analysis and the foundational work to start a professional association for individuals that work in the adaptive sports field.
