This descriptive type of study determines the role of vocational education to rehabilitate minors at the "Centro de Detencion y Tratamiento Social de Ninas" in Ponce, Puerto Rico. There were 45 female minors at the moment of the study, from which five of these were selected randomly to certify reliability. While the study was being conducted, the 40 minors previously mentioned, were under the custody of the "Administracion de Instituciones Juveniles". The researcher was able to visit the center to administer the instrument of investigation.;The results of this study demonstrate that the young ladies had a positive perception of vocational education as a factor that contributes to rehabilitation and as a mechanism to reduce the possibilities of a relapse. Lastly, it was possible to identify factors that are associated to second offences. |
