Abstract/Summary:
For students to be successful in advanced mathematical concepts, they must first become proficient in basic math facts (Wong & Evans, 2006). The purpose of this study was to determine if students could acquire basic math fact fluency through the use of computer math games. Students were assessed at the beginning of the study with a pre test. During the 6 week study, students spent one 40 minute session using computer math games. At the conclusion of the study, data collection was triangulated, using a pre test and a post test, a Likert Survey, and personal interviews. The results of the study indicated that the use of computer math games may have contributed to student proficiency in basic math facts.
