Abstract/Summary:
The "Key Choices" Survey was performed in the City of Edmonton in 1995. This research seeks to advance the understanding of public consultation and participation processes and use the results of the "Key Choices" survey to compare two common consultation methods.; This document consists of two main sections; a literature review and an analysis of the data. The literature review summarises the current state of public participation and public consultation processes. To do so, it develops a framework based on past analyses. The current project is then situated in terms of this framework.; The analysis of the data consisted of three parts: First, a statistical comparison of the two sample groups was performed using various tests. Next, a graphical analysis of the responses was conducted for each of the policy questions asked in the survey. Finally, an examination of the responses given by organized participants was carried out.
