Abstract/Summary:
This thesis is of a dual nature in both form and content. Chapter 1 is an experiment in self-reflexive or referential metafiction. The author, her body of work, biography as well as all secondary sources, are designed to appear legitimate; however, all are entirely fictional. Chapter 2 examines sources in postmodern theory, such as deconstruction, intertexuality, discourse, and the indeterminacy of meaning, in an effort to support and validate the artificial thesis of Chapter 1. This project explores the paradox and aporia created by postmodern art, literature and literary theory, and concludes that postmodernism has destroyed any objective, definitive, way of knowing. Consequently, everything is a fiction.
