SLISORDAS: Selective Laser Sintering Simulator Data Analysis System

Rapid prototyping of three dimensional parts is quickly becoming an integral part of concurrent engineering for advanced manufacturing. SLISORDAS stands for Selective Laser Sintering Simulator Data Analysis System and is designed to aid the client in selecting a custom designed prototype. It combines the functions of a simulator and a database/knowledge system in order to estimate production times and material costs for objects produced by a selective laser sintering rapid prototyping system. The thesis describes a three phase approach for its development verification and validation. The methodology used should also be applicable to other types of rapid prototyping systems.
