| The following presents an original method for the characterization and subsequent evaluation of long term research and development activities. This method is based on a model developed to establish a matrix relationship between RD sectorial activities of a company and its commercial segmentation. The intrinsic value of RD sectors and market segments is a function of specific parameters taking into account the local and global aspects of these sectors or segments.; This method has been applied to Hydro-Quebec long term research and development activities, which are described and briefly assessed. In addition, the global energy consumption of Quebec is analysed and natural gas is examined on the basis of its complementarity with other sources of energy. |
