Abstract/Summary:
Why is this topic chosen to be the subject of this thesis? First, political prisoners and the discrimination against them and their families do exist in Taiwan. Second, God's salvation is for every single person. We have the obligation to preach the Gospel, especially to those in need. Third, people who are suffering are those Jesus referred to when he said, "Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me" (Mt. 25:45).; The efforts of this thesis arise from my pastoral experience. This thesis addresses the opportunities related to mission--the concern for the current and the former political prisoners and their families and how to spread the gospel among them. A list of recommendations, based on basic human rights and needs, is given as concrete expression of pastoral care.
