Polarization is one of the nature of light.Compared with traditional holography theory,which only focuses on the amplitude and phase information of light,polarization holography pays more attention to the polarization information of reconstructed light field.The research on polarization holography was based on Jones theory,which can correctly describe the polarization state of the reconstructed wave under the paraxial approximation.But due to the limitations of this theory,it is not suitable for describing the body interference light field at large interference angles.In 2011,K.Kuroda proposed a polarization holography theory based on dielectric tensor.This theory treats the response of recording material to polarization light field with tensor method,describes the recording and reconstructing process of polarization hologram,and can correctly describe the amplitude,phase and polarization information of the reconstructed wave at any interference angle based on the tensor polarization holograph theory.In this paper,the reconstruction property of linear polarization holography is studied based on the polarization light holography theory of tensor method.(1)First,the recording and reproducing process of linear polarization holography is analyzed,and the expression of reconstructed wave of linear polarized is deduced by using the tensor polarization holography theory.The results show that under general conditions,the polarization state of reconstructed wave is not consistent with that of signal wave,and the condition for faithfully reproducing polarization information is complicated.(2)The polarization sensitive material PQ/PMMA photopolymer was prepared,which is conducive to the subsequent experiments.(3)Through the summary of previous studies,it is found that the type of polarization state regulation of reconstructed wave in polarization holography can be divided into two categories.The first type is the reconstructed wave is regulated by controlling the conditions of holography recording and reading.The second type is to control the reconstructed wave by controlling the dielectric tensor.When the polarization state of the reconstructed wave is dependent on the dielectric tensor control,faithful,null and orthogonal reconstruction of the reconstructed wave can be achieved under any recording and reading conditions if the change range of the dielectric tensor of the material is large enough.(4)The faithful reconstruction of linear polarization holography without dielectric tensor constraints are systematically studied.The research results show that when the polarization characteristics of the reconstructed wave get rid of the constraints of dielectric tensor,the condition of recording and reading process of the linear polarization holography is limited to achieve faithful reconstruction.In polarized holography,the signal wave is recorded and read with reference light and reading wave of the same polarization state.When the signal wave and reference wave satisfy special conditions,the reconstructed wave can faithfully reconstruction without dielectric tensor constraint.Therefore,an experimental platform is designed and established,and the experimental results are in agreement with those of theoretical analysis.
