Evaluation Of The Washing Effect Of The Liquid Detergent On Cotton Fabric

Liquid detergent plays a very important role in household washing.There are a wide variety of laundry detergents on the market at present,but the homogenization phenomenon is serious and there is a lack of standard basis for systematic and objective evaluation.Therefore,consumers do not have enough evidence to make appropriate choices when faced with the market of laundry detergents,and enterprises are unable to make a further positioning for products.On the basis of enterprise practice and aiming at the problems existing in the laundry detergent,the author evaluates the effects detergents have on the cotton fabrics from the perspectives of stains removal,effects on fabric appearance,bacteria-eliminating and the time of fragrance retention using the common cotton fabrics as object,in the way of household washing and selecting four kinds of detergents including imported coagulant laundry detergent,multi-effect care laundry detergent,underwear special laundry detergent as well as the national standard laundry detergent.Thus it can help provide evidence for consumers to purchase products while provide product positioning standards for the enterprise.The main research contents and conclusions are as follow.(1)Detergents’ stain removal effect on cotton fabricHousehold washing method was used to wash the industrial dust particles,cola stains and automobile exhaust stains on cotton fabric with imported coagulant laundry detergent,multi-effect care laundry detergent and the national standard laundry detergent.The influence of laundry detergent on cotton fabric stain removal effect was evaluated with electron microscope and whiteness meter.The results show that all detergents could remove industrial dust stains but fail to wash cola stains.In comparison,multi-effect care laundry detergent has the best effect with 85.5% and 95.1% of cola stains respectively on colored cotton and pure cotton fabrics.All the detergents can clean the automobile exhaust on the surface of cotton fabric,but it is difficult to remove the oil from the cotton fiber cavity.(2)Detergents’ effect on the appearance of cotton fabricThe effect of washing on the appearance of cotton fabric was evaluated from two aspects of conformal effect and reducing the effect of pilling using three kinds of detergents including imported coagulant laundry detergent,multi-effect care laundry detergent and the national standard laundry detergent.The results showed that all the three kinds of laundry detergents had little effect on the shape retention.In comparison,multi-effect care laundry detergent has the best effect with 1.9% of improvement rate in the meridional contraction while 3.7% in the zonal direction.In terms of reducing pilling,all the detergents will cause pilling but in comparison,detergents with functional claims are better than national standard laundry detergent.(3)Antibacterial effect of laundry detergent on cotton fabricThe degerming effect of imported coagulant laundry detergent,underwear special laundry detergent and the national standard laundry detergent on staphylococcus aureus and escherichia coli was observed on the colony counter.The results showed that the effect of three kinds of liquid detergents on the two kinds of colony could reach 99.9%.(4)Effect of laundry detergent on fragrance retention of cotton fabricTaking cotton fabric as sample,after washing with imported coagulant laundry detergent and multi-effect care laundry detergent in household washing mode,the flavor concentration when just dry and dry after 24 hours are analyzed under Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry..The results showed that the fragrance concentration of imported coagulant laundry detergent was 7.6% and 4.0% respectively just dry and after 24 hours of fresh drying while that of multi-effect care laundry detergent was 16.2% and 13.8% respectively.
