Under the background of the "Made in China 2025" and the potential industrial restructuring of domestic steel industry,equipment intelligentialization is imperative.Through the utilization of computer vision to "grant machines the ability of natural vision",management and inspection of a wide range of machinery and equipment in industrial environments will be enhanced,efficiency of factory operation will be improved,and market competitiveness will be strengthened.Although the theory and practice of project management is often applied in the manufacturing industry,for those conventional ones such as metallurgical industry,it is not rare to see the failure of projects promoting technical innovation and efficiency improvement.It is believed that the planning and control of project schedule plays an essential role in raising the success rate of projects with certain technical and R&D background.Besides,the core of project management for the R&D of roller bearing vision detection device is the betterment of detailed planning of project progress and the effective implementation of schedule control.Firstly,breakdown and assignment of job tasks was accomplished after reviewing the study on the planning and control of project schedule and taking into account the features and challenges in the R&D of roller bearing visual detection devices.Secondly,critical path was identified and proper arrangement of project progress was set up through the estimation on sequence and time consumption of job tasks.Meanwhile,network planning optimization was performed to achieve an initial optimization of the project progress.Furthermore,the time consumption of each process in critical chain was calculated by means of probability estimation,which led to the increase of the critical chain buffer and the feeding buffer,thus forming the baseline project planning and serving the subsequent control of project progress.Based on the baseline project planning and control flow of the R&D of customized roller bearing visual detection devices,dynamic tracking and bias assessment were conducted under the circumstances that measures of management,resources,contract and finance were carried out to meet the project deadline.Last but not the least,this article summarized the practices and modifications in the process of applying theories of project planning and schedule control,which may set an example for future projects announcing technical amendment and efficiency enhancement in other branches of Baowu Steel Group.
