The traditional wool knitted fabric usually has poor thermal insulation in windy environment,as well as poor windproof and waterproof performance,poor shape retention.Therefore,researchers and textile enterprises have developed a series of functional wool fabrics by using lamination process,in the hope of improving the windproof performance of wool fabrics,giving them the ability to resist liquid water or rain,snow,fog,etc.in the outdoor environment,and making them have good thermal and moisture comfort performance and better shape retention property in the windy environment in autumn and winter.At present,the research on laminated wool fabric mainly focuses on laminated process and the improvement of wearability.There is a lack of research on product application.Therefore,this dissertation studies the wearability of laminated wool fabric,and further investigates whether it can meet people's functional requirements for wool in practice.Taking ordinary single-layer wool fabric,double-layer laminated wool fabric and three-layer laminated wool fabric as the research objects,the thermal and moisture comfort property of laminated wool fabric as well as its surface material were evaluated.Then,by testing the physical and mechanical properties of fabric and three-dimensional scanning,the fabric handle and appearance of laminated wool fabric were evaluated,as well as its clothing modeling effect.Finally,by testing the thermal resistance and moisture resistance of fabrics under different environmental conditions,the applicable environmental conditions of laminated wool fabric were discussed.The research conclusions mainly include the following three aspects:(1)Effect of lamination process on the thermal and moisture transfer properties of wool fabricThrough the test of air permeability,hydrostatic pressure resistance,spray rating,moisture permeability,thermal resistance,moisture resistance indicators,it was found that the lamination process can significantly improve the windproof performance of wool fabric(p<0.05),and it was expected to avoid the cold feeling of human body due to heat loss in the windy environment.In terms of waterproof performance,the waterproof polymer film in the lamination process could effectively improve the waterproof performance of wool fabric.In terms of thermal insulation performance,after the lamination process,the fluffy of the surface wool fabric decreased,resulting in the reduction of the static air inside the fiber.Therefore,in the standard test environment,the thermal resistance of the laminated wool fabric was significantly lower than its surface material(p<0.05),so the thermal insulation performance of the fabric was relatively worse after laminating.In terms of moisture permeability,after the lamination process,the moisture permeability of wool fabric decreased,and the evaporation resistance increased.(2)Effect of lamination process on the physical and mechanical properties,and apparent characteristics of wool fabricFrom the aspect of fabric,the physical and mechanical properties related to the fabric handle and style,such as stiffness,softness,smoothness,drape coefficient and wrinkle recovery were tested.It was found that the lamination process could improve the bending stiffness and wrinkle resistance of the fabric and reduce the softness and drape of the fabric.Taking the fabric of straight style wool coat in autumn and winter as the standard,the comprehensive evaluation of the fabric was obtained through the gray nearly optimal method.The order of sensory properties of fabric is as follows:double-layer laminated wool fabric > three-layer laminated wool fabric > singlelayer wool fabric.That is,the use of lamination process can make wool knitted fabric more suitable for the development of straight style wool coat in autumn and winter.From the aspect of clothing,the three-dimensional images of different types of clothing were obtained by three-dimensional technology.It was found that the lamination process could improve the clothing modeling effect of single-layer wool knitted fabric,making it more rigid and not easy to wrinkle.(3)Study on the environmental applicability of laminated wool fabricBy testing the thermal and moisture properties of fabrics and clothing under different environment conditions,it was found that the total thermal resistance of three kinds of fabrics and clothing decreased with the increase of wind speed.When the wind speed reached 4m/s,the thermal resistance of three-layer laminated wool clothing was significantly higher than that of double-layer laminated wool clothing and ordinary single-layer wool clothing(p<0.05).At different relative humidity levels,the total moisture resistance of three kinds of fabrics were significantly negatively correlated with wind speed(p<0.05);at different wind speed levels,the total moisture resistance of three kinds of fabrics were significantly positively correlated with relative humidity(p<0.05).According to the experimental results,it can be inferred that,the moisture permeability of laminated wool fabric will be further reduced in high humidity environment,so it is not suitable for wearing in this kind of environment.However,with the increase of wind speed,the moisture resistance of the fabric will decrease,and the negative impact of lamination process on the moisture permeability of the fabric will be weakened.Therefore,in the high wind environment,the balance of "windproof performance " and "moisture permeability" of three-layer laminated wool fabric can be achieved.However,in the low wind environment(wind speed is 2m/s and below),there is no significant difference in thermal resistance between double-layer laminated wool clothing and three-layer laminated wool clothing(p>0.05),and the moisture resistance of double-layer laminated wool fabric is lower than that of three-layer laminated wool fabric.Therefore,in the low wind environment,the double-layer laminated wool fabric has good windproof performance,thermal insulation,and moisture permeability at the same time,which is suitable for wearing.
