PhabrOmeter system is a new fabric sensory perception evaluation system.It is greatly used by companies and universities.Some remain questions of the system,however,are still to be solved,and the use of it needs more attentions.In order to better use PhabrOmeter system,this thesis gathered 143 kinds fabrics,and the test performance of PhabrOmeter system was analyzed.Meanwhile,using KES system,electronic stiffness meter and automatic laser elastic recovery instrument to test fabirc's related performance.Combining theoretical analysis,objective evaluation,correlation analysis,paired sample T test.Not only the PhabrOmeter system's repeatability was studied,but also the physical meanings of its' output indexes and rationality of the testing condition setting were compared and investigated.The main content and results are as followings:1)The concept of PhabrOmeter's system indicators is ambiguous.Resilience may be an improper using,Stiffness can more appropriate.The three basic fabric hand indicators of PhabrOmeter system should be fabric limp and stiffness,softness and hardness,smoothness and roughness.And they respectively represent fabric's bending deformation performance,fabric's compression deformation performance,and the resistance when you sliding of the fabric surface by hand.2)In order to ensure the sampling quantity of the PhabrOmeter system and the repeatability of the test results,two different experimental schemes were designed.And the coefficient of variation of each index under the two experimental schemes were calculated.The results show that when using PhabrOmeter to evaluate the sensory performance of even-textured fabrics,the test repeatability of the three basic fabric hand indicators is very good,and 3 samples are needed,which is consistent with the sampling number recommended by the system itself.The repeatability of Drape Index is good,and 4 samples are needed to ensure the accuracy of the test.The test repeatability of Wrinkle Recovery Rate is poor,and 10 samples are needed to ensure its accuracy,which is really high-costing and time-consuming.3)In order to discuss the physical meaning of various indexes of the PhabrOmeter system,based on the definition given by the official website,the correlation analysis of the test results between PhabrOmeter system's and corresponding fabric performance testers were done.Combining subjective evaluation experiments,fabric gripping experiments,theoretical analysis methods.Finally,it is find that for super light fabrics and light fabrics,stiffness can better represent the bending resistance of fabrics,however,for the medium fabrics,stiffness can not well characterize the bending resistance of fabrics.The results of softness,smoothness and WRR indexes are more inconsistent with the actual situation,they are insufficient with the corresponding properties of fabrics,and the credibility of these indicators is weak.4)PhabrOmeter system classifies fabrics according to the liner density.Different types of fabrics using different numbers of pressure plates when testing.In order to test the rationality of this test condition setting,25 kinds of fabrics whose liner density is near to the critical point of classification were selected.Meanwhile,9 kinds of fabrics,which classified according to the fabric's liner density were inconsistent with the classification recommended by the software system,were selected and tested using different quantity pressure plates.Combined with the T-test analysis results of the paired samples,the different pressure conditions of the test will affect the results of these fabrics.According to the official website of PhabrOmeter and the test standard AATCC 202,it is necessary to select the appropriate fabric type combined with the reference fabric.5)In order to make sure whether it is rational that test only one side of the fabric,11 kinds of fabrics with great difference between the front and back sides were filtered,and the fabrics were tested face-down and reverse-side down respectively.The T test results of the paired samples showed that when using the PhabrOmeter system it's feasible that only did Single-sided testing.However,it also reflects that PhabrOmeter system is not sensitive to the smoothness test and cannot greatly recognize fabrics' smoothness and roughness well.
