Risk management of the project is an indispensable part of project management. The petroleum engineering technology service overseas project is an important component of Z company's pursuit of its own development, maintaining and improving economic benefits. However, due to its market competitiveness, complex geological conditions, and political fluctuations in Turkmenistan and surrounding areas,Z Company Turkmenistan is oriented.Drilling engineering projects face greater risks than domestic projects. This paper sorts out the research progress of project risk management and summarizes the related theories of project risk management.Based on this, combined with the content and characteristics of the Z company Turkmenistan directional drilling project, the risk management research of the project was carried out.Firstly, using the brainstorming method and the causal analysis, the elements and various risks that may exist in the directional drilling project of the Z company in Turkmenistan are identified in advance. Then,a risk evaluation index system including 21 indicators of market risk, economic risk, political risk, technical risk, natural risk and management risk was constructed. The analytic hierarchy process was used to determine the index weight, and the Z company Turkmenistan directional drilling project was constructed.Project risk fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model.Through the use of AHP to weight the first-level indicators and the second-level indicators, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to evaluate the risk of each of the first-level indicators and the second-level indicators, and the risks of the Z company's Turkmenistan directional drilling project are obtained.Coefficients, and for the relatively high risk of the coefficient, respectively propose corresponding coping strategies.
