China is a major casting country,as time goes by,the current development trend becomes green and sustainable.In the process of upgrading and transformation of the foundry industry,the particularly prominent are the problems of small and medium-sized foundry enterprise.And under the pressure of diversified customer needs,high labor costs,and outstanding environmental protection issues,small and medium-sized enterprises urgently need to get rid of extensive production methods and strive to build a modernized production line,which is long-term effective,high level of industrialization and flexibility.This paper takes the coated sand production workshop of a medium-sized foundry in Jinzhou,Hebei province as a research object.Firstly,it outlines the production status of the foundry,analyzes the production process,divides the production structure and points out the existing problems.Secondly,collecting the original material,though the Systematic Layout Planning(SLP),it is found that an initial production line facility layout plan.Then using the System Handling Analysis(SHA)designation to determine the material handling route and equipment of the production line,and basing on the actual conditions constraints,the layout scheme is adjusted.Also,the initial layout scheme and adjustment scheme are evaluated by Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process(FAHP).Finally,the Witness simulation model is established according to the optimal layout scheme and the handling scheme to verify the rationality of the scheme and adjust it.The paper has a certain reference value for the design of coated sand casting production line of the foundry.The application of simulation software makes the scheme closer to reality,it also provides a reference for the transformation and optimization of production line of small and medium-sized foundry enterprises.
