Gaoyou Lake Wetland,Jiangsu Province Research On The Historical Development And Protection Of Agricultural System

Gaoyou lake,also known as the new Kai lake,belongs to the Huaihe River Basin.It is the sixth largest fresh water lake in China.Gaoyou Lake Wetland Agricultural System is a traditional agricultural system based on Gaoyou Lake,which is closely related to economy,politics and culture,formed by local ancestors relying on water environment and adapting measures to local conditions in thousands of years of labor creation.With the deepening of the society’s emphasis on agricultural cultural heritage,in May 2017,the Gaoyou Lake Wetland Agricultural System was successfully selected as "China’s Important Agricultural Cultural Heritage".Starting from the historical development process of wetland agricultural system in Gaoyou Lake,through the investigation of many archaeological sites and the collection and integration of a large number of historical documents,it is not difficult to find that as early as 7000 years ago,the agricultural development model in Gaoyou area had already appeared.With the continuous evolution of the water and soil environment in Gaoyou lake and the impact of harnessing the Huai River,the Gaoyou Lake Wetland agricultural system was mature in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The formation,transformation and utilization of its agricultural system not only witnessed the hard work and extraordinary wisdom of the ancestors of Gaoyou,but also had strong regional characteristics and rich cultural connotations.Then,based on the relative maturity and stability of Gaoyou Lake Wetland agricultural system,its composition and structure are analyzed.It mainly includes three aspects:the ecological environment system,the agricultural production system and the custom culture system.Among them,there are not only unique farming techniques,aquaculture experience,unique processing technology of Gaoyou salted duck eggs,but also rich and varied folk culture and intoxicating Lake scenery.In a word,it is a rare agricultural civilization birthplace and cultural and ecological protection area that still retains the concept of sustainable development and harmonious coexistence between man and nature.It is a precious Agricultural and cultural heritage.Furthermore,the constituent elements of the Gaoyou Lake Wetland Agricultural System were analyzed.It mainly elaborates from three aspects:ecological environment system,agricultural production system and customs culture system,and outlines its main components from multiple levels and angles.Then,the multiple values of the Gaoyou Lake wetland agricultural system were explored.According to the evaluation criteria of agricultural cultural heritage,this paper analyzes the ecological,economic,social and cultural aspects of the Gaoyou Lake wetland agricultural system.In the process of discussion,it reflects the Gaoyou Lake wetland agricultural system to the real society.The importance of it.However,due to the rapid development of social economy brought about by the industrial revolution,the ecological environment,traditional production mode,technology and cultural heritage of the Gaoyou Lake wetland agricultural system have been greatly impacted,facing the danger of disappearing at any time,on the wetland agriculture of Gaoyou Lake.Systematic research and protection is imminent.Then,based on the research data,the opportunities and challenges faced by today’s Gaoyou Lake wetland agricultural system are integrated,and the discussion of the challenges is the most important.From the current point of view,the Gaoyou Lake Wetland Agricultural System faces four major challenges:the destruction of the water environment,the difficulty of inheriting agriculture under the process of urbanization,the impact of intensive management on traditional production methods and the indifference of public opinion.Finally,in view of the above problems,the paper focuses on the protection measures of the Gaoyou Lake wetland agricultural system.This part proposes protection countermeasures from two dimensions:First,vertical protection,that is,specific measures,mainly to actively declare global important agricultural cultural heritage,publicize "cultural consciousness",improve protection awareness,establish multi-participation mechanism,and deepen historical connotation.Promote traditional culture;second,horizontal protection,deep integration of rural revitalization strategy and agricultural cultural heritage,and promote the protection and rational use of Gaoyou Lake wetland agricultural system.
