Forty-two compounds were isolated from the ethanol extract of Caesalpinia digyna by means of column chromatography(Sephadex LH-20,ODS,MCI and silica gel,etc).The structures of these compounds were identified on the basis of spectroscopic analysis(HR-ESI-MS,~1H-NMR,13C-NMR,DEPT,HSQC and HMBC,etc).The compounds were:caesalpinflavan E(1),caesalpinflavan D(2),caesalpinflavan B(3),caesalpinflavan A(4),caesalpinnone A(5),oxyfadichalcone B(6),2′,4′-dihydroxy-3′-(2′′-hydroxybenzyl)chalcone(7),2′,4′-dihydroxy-5′-(2′′-hydroxybenzyl)chalcone(8),2′,4′-dihydroxychalcone(9),isoliquiritigenin(10),3-deoxysappanchalcone(11),butein(12),1-(2’-carboxyallyl)-2,3,7-trimethoxydibenzo[b,d]furan(13),mimosol G(14),isobonducellin(15a),bonducellin(15b),isointricatinol(16a),intricatinol(16b),7-hydroxy-3-(4′-hydroxybenzylidene)Chroman-4-one(17),7-hydroxy-3-(3’,4’-dihydroxybenzylidene)chroman-4-one(18),caesalpinflavan F(19),7-hydroxy flavanone(20),pinocembrin(21),liquiritigenin(22),naringenin(23),butin(24),kaempferol(25),quercetin(26),kaempferol-3-O-α-L-rhamnopymnoside(27),quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside(28),clemaphenol A(29),syringaresinol(30),medioresinol(31),ursolic acid(32),3β-hydroxylup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid(33),β-sitosterol(34),3-hydroxybenzyl benzoate(35),resorcinol(36),2-hydroxybenzoic acid(37),vanillin(38),ethyl gallate(39)and gallic acid(40).Except for compounds 15a,15b,16a,16b,20,22,23,26,32,34,39 and 40,the other 30 compounds were isolated from Caesalpinia digyna for the first time.
