| People acquire information mainly through vision.Information attained visually features authenticity,reliability and convenience.With the development of economics and advances of the society,visual disability has received increasing attention from both the government and concerned people from different sectors of the society.As a result,rapid developments have taken place in medical treatment,recovery and special education.In the era of universal higher education,certain progress could also be observed in special education of China: education for the Blind will not just stay in the stage of Nine-Year Compulsory Education,special education schools have offered additional courses such as massage,which serves to enhance the employment rate of the Blind.Special education schools are the most direct platform for the Blind to gain knowledge,and much more supports have been provided by the government than before.Thus,the Blind have enjoyed a higher level of the right for disabled people to access education,which promotes education equality.Since people usually stay indoor in daily life,interior design for a special group of people – the Blind-should be attached importance to by contemporary designers.As special education schools are comprehensive schools,they have got relatively strong restrictions on Barrier-Free Design.In the interior design for special education schools,the Blind’s incentive of behaviors and guidance to different behavioral requirements are relied on their first-hand experience of spaces in the schools.Only under this condition would the Blind’s daily lives and learning status be more convenient and harmonical.This paper focus on awakening a behavior-oriented aesthetic standard for contemporary designers through analysis on physical,mental,social as well as aesthetic needs of the Blind.It aims at solving problems emerged in the interior design of special education schools with behavior requirements of the Blind,changing the situation thatmost special interior designs for the Blind could only be used by people with normal vision.The Blind would only be able to feel warmth from the society when special designs are universal.After the research topic is explicitly determined,at first the literature review and case analysis are performed based on researches in related fields conducted both domestically and abroad by a considerable amount of related material is consulted.More-over,in a special education school located in He Bei Province of China,a three-month field research focusing on the blind ’s incentive of behaviors and needs at different levels in each indoor environment of the special education school which Aging from 8 to 38,that has provided a full extent of understanding of the Blind.And then shared space and transitional space are analyzed by integrating teaching experience such as functional space.By contrasting special education school with school for the blind,differences are discovered and brought forward.During this field research,problem-s have been discovered in interior design of special education School oriented by behavioral requirements of the Blind.The anaphase modified designs cheme is derived by communicating with authorities teachers and the blind students of the school on these existing questions.By October of 2015,this school had redesigned the student dormitory;afterwards,the author of his paper revisitedt this school in order to evaluate the solutions to problems found in prophase analyses.By means of repeated investigation,analysis and summarizing,to give a suitable reconstruction case for the current deficient interior design of this school;So resolve the many formal design,eliminate the design that the blind barrier-free is not be used,and convey the accurate effective information to the blind in a fastest and best ways,solid foundation for development of special-education schools in the future. |
