Company A Cost Analysis Of Vehicle Assembly Plant In-plant Logistic Strategy

The deep analysis of macroeconomic and trend of automotive industry reveals that the preference of customer will upgrade and more personalization.In the meantime,rising competition of automotive market makes advantage of pricing becomes most key focus of all OEMs.To achieve both,OEM has to build their production line more flexible,in terms of the number of car model can be produced and the number of option can be configured in same line,while the whole capacity remains relatively stable.Hereby,in-plant logistic will be analyzed as a important process of vehicle plant operation.A general assembly shop of a vehicle assembly plant from company A is chosen as basis of the study and different scenario,high flexibility,mid flexibility and low flexibility,will be set by modifying operation parameter like number of common line car model and number of parts share by different car models.At the end,optimized in-plant logistic strategy will be proposed through comprehensive calculation,analysis.Besides,the methodology of this analysis can be apply to other vehicle assembly plant planning cases.
