China’s orthopedic medical device industry has developed rapidly in recent years,with a CAGR of 15.5%,far exceeding the global growth rate of 4.5%.With the encouragement of national policies and increasing market demands,more and more enterprises join this market to get some share,resulting in severe market competition in this field.Meanwhile,huge amount of information,rapid change of technology and the product customization demanded by customers require enterprises to respond quickly,accurately and effectively.The competition between enterprises becomes competition between cost,efficiency and supply chain.Effective supply chain management can reduce costs,improve efficiency and enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.As an important part of the supply chain,procurement is one of the profit sources of enterprises.As the industry competition gets more intense,customers put forward higher requirements on quality,cost and delivery date for YRK.While procurement,as the cost center of enterprises,its strategy directly affects the production costs and corporate profits.Based on the above-mentioned background,YRK’s existing procurement strategy problems are becoming more and more prominent.For example,material classification is missing;many raw materials are imported from Italy with months of lead-time and high cost,customer demand is not accurate;procurement process is complex,information system platform is not fully developed and utilized;supplier management system is not perfect,relationship management and performance evaluation system needs to be improved,etc.Respecting to the above-mentioned problems,based on domestic and foreign theoretical research and success practice,this thesis analyzes and optimizes YRK procurement strategy issues by classifying materials types to better adopt suitable management measures,widening supply channels,switching single-source into double source or multi-source,localizing or global procurement strategies for different type of materials to reduce procurement costs and guarantee material supply,simplifying procurement process and developing SAP functions and introducing SRM system to improve efficiency,conducting strict supplier evaluation,establishing long-term win-win relationships with key suppliers and conducting regular performance evaluations.The results of this study will provide guidance to YRK’s procurement strategy,and also give some reference value to enterprises of the same type as YRK. |
