In recent years,while China has made remarkable achievements in the construction of high-speed urbanization,the extensive development method behind it has led to the continuous deterioration of the contradictions between people,buildings,cities,and the environment.The hidden dangers of urban security have increased.Improving urban security has become the consensus of the whole society.As one of the core elements of urban space,improving street security is an important means to improve urban safety.Under this background,it is more and more important to explore how to coordinate the relationship between the design of street physical environmental elements and street safety in urban design.At present,the research on street safety at home and abroad mostly studies various types of safety from the aspect of objective accidents,and lacks the study of various types of safety and its influence mechanism from the perspective of subjective feelings.This paper takes the living street as the research object,aiming to explore the impact of street physical environment factors on different types of subjective safety,so as to extract the key physical environment factors affecting safety,and then combined with excellent cases,puts forward the security optimization strategy suitable for living streets.This article is divided into 4 parts and contains 7 chapters:The first part(Chapter 1 and 2): The research question is proposed and the related theory is summarized.Through the research background,the research purpose and significance,content and method of this article are clarified.In addition,it summarizes the research on the streets in the past,and defines the concepts of living streets,street safety,and street physical environmental elements,which provides a theoretical basis for subsequent research.The second part(Chapter 3): To establish a research method for the impact of living street physical environmental factors on safety.First,sort out the indicators through relevant literature and street design guidelines,and screen the indicators in combination with field surveys and questionnaire surveys,so as to divide the index set of physical environmental elements into three categories: environmental facility elements,building interface elements along the street,and road surface element.The set of safety indicators is divided into three categories: traffic safety,defense safety,and activity safety.Then,through field surveys and satellite map measurements,a quantitative calculation method for physical environmental elements is constructed,through the determination of questionnaire scores and weights,a quantitative calculation method for safety is constructed.Finally,Pearson correlation analysis,multiple regression analysis,and scatter chart analysis are used to construct the impact Analytical methods,thus establishing the research method of this article.The third part(Chapter 4,5): select the typical case of Wuhan City,and use the established impact research method to explore the relationship between the physical environmental factors of living streets and the safety.First,taking 5 typical living streets in Wuhan as a case study,the safety and physical environment elements are quantified to obtain physical environment element data and safety data,Then,takes the data of physical environment as independent variables and traffic safety,defense safety,activity safety and overall safety data as dependent variables to conduct correlation and multiple regression analysis through SPSS software.The study found that the physical environmental factors have different influence rules on different types of safety.In a comprehensive view,9 indicators are the key physical environment factors affecting street safety,including seat density,sign facility density,street lamp density,crossing facility density,green visibility,store density,transparency,effective width of sidewalk and height difference of sidewalk.The fourth part(Chapter 6,7): According to the relationship between physical and environmental factors on safety,street safety optimization strategies are proposed.First,proposes the safety optimization strategy by combining with excellent street practical engineering cases at home and abroad from a total of 9 key physical environmental indicators.Then,select the streets with poor physical environment element index conditions in the sample streets,and apply the strategy to test the feasibility of the proposed strategy in the application.Finally,an expert questionnaire was used to test the rationality of the proposed strategy for optimizing street safety.In the end,the research conclusions and innovations of this paper are summarized and the research deficiencies and prospects are put forward.
