Effect Of Living Street's Elements On Vitality Based On Living Behavior

Living Street is the basic unit of urban system,and its features affect overall impression of people in the city.However,in the process of rapid urban development in recent years,streets are always built on the scale of cars,ignoring the status of people in the street,and the street public life has been gradually drifting away.With the improvement of living standards,people are not satisfied with the material needs,the quality of environment and life are increasingly valued.Therefore,analysing the elements which affect the vitality of the street life,rebuilding street life has become an important topic of modern urban design.Based on the living behavior on streets,analyse the type of behavior,psychological and behavior characteristics and spatial perception feature of different age group combined with the theory of street vitality and living streets,sort out from space,facilities,vegetation,function to explore the relationship among the street elements,street vitality and living behavior.This study selects three typical streets in Shenzhen to obtain data of street elements and living behavior through field work and interview.Using method of induction and comparison to summarise characteristics of street elements and living behavior.Moreover,using qualitative method to analyse the relationship between charateristics.Then,quantifying data through evenness index,index normalization,variation coefficient.Using SPSS linear regression analysis and variance to determin which elements have influence on street vitality and the extent of the influence,and combined with simple scatter plots to analyse the range of selected street elements.The results show that seat density,sidewalk width,social place density,store density and format mix have a significant positive correlation with street vitality,and the degree of influence is from lage to small.Therefore,with combination of research results,put forward index range of street elements and give optimization suggestions from the perspective of street elements.It is expected to provide specific quantitative methods and data support for assessing street vitality,and provide an objective basis for future urban design,street planning and local policy.
