A Study On The Site Selection And Layout Of Folk Architecture Of Traditional Belief In Southeast Shanxi

As one of the important parts of religious culture in China,folk traditional belief has been severely criticized as "feudal superstition" in the past decades.Until the last decade,the study of folk traditional belief has become one of the hot topics.Due to its unique natural and geographical environment,southeast Shanxi region has spawned many myths and stories,which have gradually evolved into the beliefs of the people and become an indispensable part of our religious culture.As the material carrier of folk belief culture,folk belief architecture can not only reflect the regional characteristics of local architecture,but also carry the folk culture activities of local people.Based on the research theories of architecture,human settlements and geomantic omen,this paper takes the folk belief buildings in Southeast Shanxi Province,which are rich in folk beliefs,as the research object.Based on field research,literature collection,case analysis,comparative analysis and other research methods,the thesis summarizes the characteristics and spatial layout of such buildings in the region through specific research on the location and layout of folk traditional belief buildings in southeast Shanxi.On the basis of systematically understanding its background information,first of all,on the basis of expounding the folk belief and the formation and development of folk belief and its architecture in the southeast of Shanxi Province,this paper analyzes the historical development stages and characteristics of folk traditional belief architecture in southeast Shanxi.Secondly,it summarizes the folk traditional belief in the southeast of Shanxi Province from the aspects of folk belief,natural geography,historical culture,geomantic theory,etc.Then,it conducts an in-depth study on the spatial layout of folk belief buildings in this area,analyzes the main factors affecting the spatial layout of buildings and the use of terrain by the architectural layout,so as to summarize the characteristics,spatial sequence,and processing methods of folk belief building layout in southeast Shanxi.Finally,this paper discusses the common characteristics of these buildings,displays them in a simple chart form,summarizes the regional characteristic of folk religious buildings in southeast Shanxi and discovers the general rules of site selection and layout of these buildings.Hope to provide some reference for some scholars to study folk belief buildings in the southeast of Shanxi Province in the future.As a basic theoretical research,this paper hopes to contribute to the theoretical knowledge of the location and layout of traditional folk belief buildings,so that people can inherit the intangible culture of traditional folk belief better,can understand and protect the folk traditional belief buildings better.Finally,the number of folk belief buildings in the southeast of Shanxi Province is large and widely distributed,so it is quite difficult to investigate.Therefore,there are few research cases selected in this paper,which are not enough to fully reflect the characteristics of local architecture.I hope that this area will be studied more deeply and thoroughly in the future.
