Research On Site Selection,Layout And Building Characteristics Of Traditional Settlement In Ma Village

There are a large number of traditional settlements with typical regional cultural characteristics in the southeast of Shanxi Province.These settlements retain the ancient site selection,spatial texture and a large number of traditional architectural courtyards,which are of high architectural and artistic value.Therefore,it is necessary to study them thoroughly.This paper mainly studies the site selection and layout of traditional settlements in Ma Village,the characteristics of traditional dwellings and public buildings,and the details of traditional buildings.First of all,by means of field research and consulting a large number of literature and other methods,the traditional settlement of Ma Village has a superior natural environment.During the Ming and Qing Dynasties,commerce and trade flourished and people attached importance to education in Ma Village.These conditions give birth to unique regional culture and distinctive architectural features.Secondly,the study found that the site selection of the traditional settlement of Ma Village mainly considered the natural environment and the social and historical background.People usually chose the plain with rich natural resources.The plain was usually in front of the mountain and behind the water.The social and historical background was mainly reflected in the site selection influenced by geomancy and the consideration of defensive nature.The overall characteristics of its spatial layout are the combination of accessibility and closure,strong sense of spatial location,centripetal,cohesion and so on.Thirdly,by taking photos and surveying and mapping traditional architectural courtyards and other methods,it is concluded that the construction of traditional residential buildings in Ma Village dates back to the Yuan Dynasty,and the courtyards are rich in types and distinctive in features.Local traditional residential buildings adapt to local conditions and have strong regional characteristics.They are built in regular form and high in height.The space organization of traditional residential buildings is given priority to courtesy.The courtyard space is centripetal.The side rooms are varied in shape and structure.The paper lists the typical characteristics of traditional residential courtyards for detailed analysis.For the traditional public buildings,the paper focuses on the differences between them and the traditional residential buildings,which are mainly reflected in the open space,the weak connection between buildings and the ornate architectural details.It also lists the concrete analysis of the existing main public buildings.Finally,the paper analyzes the details of the traditional building components of Ma Village.These architectural details are exquisitely carved and preserved.They are divided into three categories according to their locations: the roof part,the body part and the pedestal part.The paper analyzes their origin,function and the beautiful implication.This paper studies the site selection and layout characteristics of the traditional settlement of Ma Village,analyzes the characteristics of traditional architecture and analyzes with examples thoroughly.Finally,it interprets the detailed decorative components of traditional architecture in detail and focuses on the analysis of its cultural connotation.
