In recent years, the urbanization process has accelerated, and malls have also experienced a period of blowout growth.According to statis tics, the area of new malls reached a peak of growth in 2015,and then entered the era of stocks.Existing malls are facing severe homogenous competition;at the same time,in order to compete with online shopping differentiation, offline experience economy Beginning to rise;in 2019,the State Council issued a document to actively encourage the transformation of traditional malls with difficulties in operation, transformation and transformation of multi-functional,comprehensive new consumer carriers. Therefore, the research object of this paper is selected as the established malls represented by shopping malls and department stores in the city.Due to their early construction time, they often have location advantages, but they have shown a contradiction in the space experience that does not match current consumer demand. The renova tion design of existing malls is an option in line with the development of the times, and it is also a change that malls must make in order to survive. In this paper, through the investigation and analysis of malls that have been built for a period of time, successful malls, and malls with future characteristics, combined with a large number of theoretical studies, this paper proposes a strategy for the transformation of existing malls. It consists of three steps and five chapters:Chapter 1 is the theoretical basis, through the data collection and literature search to analyze the background and current status of the research topic, clarify the research purpose and significance, and establish the research method and framework.Chapters 2,3,and 4 are for analysis and research, which co rrespond to the development trend, analysis of the current status of the research object, and the direction and principles of transformation.Chapter 2 clarifies the leading position of consumer demand in the development of modern and future malls by analyzing the internal driving forces of malls development, and then uses this conclusion to derive the development trend of malls by depicting portraits of current and future consumer gro ups.The basic types of malls in the future are prospected to provide a theoretical basis for the core strategy;Chapter 3 selects four malls in the representative traditional business districts of Changsha and Shanghai as the research objects.,Spatial sequence, format ratio, internal space, and external space from six angles to carry out basic investigations and summarize their problems;Chapter 4 through field research and data review, combing 17 domestic and foreign classic malls transformation cases and 4 Cases with the characteristics of future malls summarize the direction and principles of the transformation design of malls.Chapter 5 is the strategy research, and the specific strategy is proposed in combination with the above research results, which is the core chapter of this article. The strategy is divided into four major aspects: format and layout, internal and external movement, space experience, borders and nodes, and 15 specific small points. It proposes specific and detailed transformation and design measures in line with the futur e development trend of malls.Hope to provide a certain degree of reference for follow-up research and practice.
