With the rapid development of urban social economy and the acceleration of urbanization in China, the population is gathering to the city, and urban transportation is facing severe challenges. The construction of rail transit has become an important way for the government to effectively relieve the traffic pressure, but also the most expensive way.Based on the growing traffic demand, urban rail transit construction has entered a period of rapid development. The density of the line network is increasing, the number of equipment continues to increase, and the transportation capacity continues to improve. In order to ensure the service quality, the operation unit increased the investment of inventory and labor cost. The investment of inventory cost seriously affects the economic benefits of enterprises. The stable operation and fault recovery of the equipment need enough safety reserve. The cost of safety reserve rises too fast and the turnover rate is low, which directly reduces the overall economic benefits of the enterprise. After consulting and analyzing the relevant data and visiting on the spot, this paper finds that one of the reasons why the cost of safety reserve rises too fast is the poor universality of parts of different types of equipment. The operation unit has considered the equipment unified type, but due to its own capacity,it is unable to start the equipment unified type temporarily. The development trend of urban rail transit operation units is to realize the interconnection of line networks and improve economic benefits.According to the investigation of an urban rail transit operation unit in Shenzhen, the electric train traction and braking system, which has the largest maintenance cost, complex equipment structure and meets the requirements of modularization and unification,is selected as the case study material of this paper.According to the theory of equipment modularization and the related technical data collected by investigation, this paper uses the mathematical model of matrix row column transformation to divide the complex system into independent module units. After the separation, the quantitative evaluation results in the reduction of the total amount of internal information of the equipment, and the simplification of the complexity is achieved. On the basis of the mathematical model,a theoretical and feasible unified scheme of equipment is developed for the operation unit.
