| Since the discovery of the third photosensitive cells,the study of light environment has extended from visual effects to non-visual effects.Moreover,with the optimization of the concept of green building,as well as the growth of the needs for space perception,the significance of light environment within architectural design must be reexamined and reconsidered.This paper focuses on the effects caused by light environment on space perception,aiming at finding a new direction for the study and the development of architectural design.This paper can be divided into four parts.The first part gathers and sorts out the information in relate to the research on light environment based on visual and nonvisual effects,as well as that on space perception.The second part sums up the application of day light in architectural design,and its psychological,physiological and sociological effects.The third part includes the treatment and the procedure for subjective questionnaire tests and physiological parameter measurement experiments.The fourth part analyzes and concludes the tests and experiments above.This experiment combines the methods of subjective and objective tests.Subjective perception assessment is stated personally,and objective emotion is based on physiological measurements such as GSR and heart rate tests.The subject group was consisted with seventy six university students recruited during May and June in 2018,and the experiment was conducted in the experiment lab of Tianjin University.The six operating modes were based on lighting conditions including diffuse reflectance lighting,artificial lighting,and direct lighting,and spatial functions including office and leisure spaces.In summary of the subjective and the objective experiments,this paper has come to this conclusion: 1.light environment has significant effects on space perception.2.the use of artificial light in office spaces helps the user concentrate.3.the use of direct lighting in leisure spaces easily makes the user to be entertained.4.under the same level of lighting intensity,artificial lighting causes stronger perception of brightness than natural light.5.different physiological parameter results in the difference of the change in human emotional sensitivity.GSR has higher sensitivity for change in human emotions than heart rate test. |
