Manufacturing industry is the important pillar of China’s strong national strength and its development depends on electromechanical talents.Electrician’s Basis is the basic course for training such talents so that its teaching effect can directly affect training results of those talents’ vocational skills.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore teaching methods and reform of this course in secondary vocational education in a way that is consistent with social needs.The Life Education Theory in China is consistent with the international Action-oriented Teaching Method in thoughts and connotations.Therefore,this paper carries out researches in combination with the two theories and takes applying the Action-oriented Teaching Method in China’s secondary vocational education and combining the Method with the course Electrician’s Basis to teach in secondary vocational education as the research aims.Combining the new four-stage teaching method,task-driven teaching method,technical and experimental teaching method and case teaching method,this paper has carried out researches including the course content of linking knowledge points with teaching methods,the teaching steps of " Electrician’s Basis " under action-oriented teaching method and the corresponding teaching design as well as application.Through questionnaire surveys and their statistical analysis,the applied analysis of typical cases and the empirical study by contrast experiment,it is demonstrated that the average grades of final exams in experimental classes taught with the action-oriented teaching methodwere 10.24 points higher than those of classes without action-oriented teaching method.Moreover,students in the experimental classes performed better than those in control classes in terms of studying attitudes and abilities to explore,cooperate and communicate.As a result,it is concluded that the action-oriented teaching method is effective in improving students’ self-learning,problem-analyzing and problem-solving abilities and their academic achievements.
