Early 21st century,with the global economic internationalization,the shipping market experienced blowout development.Shipping enterprises increased investment in shipbuilding and ship buying,and the market capacity increased greatly.However,after the financial crisis in 2008,the global economy continued to be in the doldrums,the shipping market was in a long-term depression,and the competition between enterprises was fierce and the performance of enterprises declined significantly.Following the COVID-19 outbreak in late 2019,the global economy has worsened the situation,posing unprecedented challenges to the shipping market.In order to survive,they should strengthen the internal management of shipping enterprises,carry out strict control from various aspects,and reduce the operating costs of enterprises.The purchase management of ship spare parts is closely related to the operation cost of the enterprise,which accounts for about one fifth of the maintenance cost and has a great impact on the company’s profit and loss.In order to reduce procurement costs and increase corporate profits,enterprises should carefully analyze the factors affecting procurement costs,select appropriate procurement cost control strategies and methods,improve the procurement management level of enterprise procurement personnel,do a good job in procurement management,and solve various problems in enterprise procurement.C company is a private ship owner company with a fleet of 18 bulk cargo ships and a total annual purchase of spare parts of more than 6 million.At present,the overall development trend of the company is good,but facing the situation of rising costs,shrinking profit margins and increasingly difficult operation.This article analyzes the present situation of spare parts purchase management of company C,and points out the problems and causes in spare parts purchase management.On this basis,combined with the theory of supply chain management,procurement management,cost control awareness,procurement process,supplier management,information management to provide the optimization strategies,this study is of great significance for company C in improving procurement efficiency,reducing procurement cost and enhancing enterprise competitiveness.The research results of this paper have certain reference value for other shipping enterprises to improve spare parts purchase management.The research results of this paper have certain reference value for other shipping enterprises to improve spare parts purchase management.The main aspects are as follows:1.Detailed spare parts procurement management process,pay attention to the procurement application,inventory,service feedback on ship,to eliminate the backlog of funds,waste and reduce the risk of shortage.2.Under the framework of supply chain management,cultivate high-quality suppliers and reduce the total procurement cost of spare parts.3.Improve the operation mechanism of cost management,and strengthen the cultivation and training of employees’ awareness of cost control.4.Adopt the management software in line with the company’s current situation,gradually standardize the procurement management,and reasonably reduce procurement costs.
