In the context of the global economic transformation,cultural and creative industries,as a strategic emerging industry for urban development,are regarded as important factors to enhance core competitiveness by various countries and regions.The development of cultural and creative industries also plays an important role in Zhengzhou’s action strategies such as building a "national central city" and building a "main landmark city of the Yellow River culture".However,compared with cities with mature cultural and creative industries such as Beijing,Shanghai,and Hangzhou,the development of cultural and creative industries in Zhengzhou is relatively slow,and there are problems such as uneven urban development,and weak agglomeration effect.These problems are partly attributed to the unreasonable industrial spatial layout.Therefore,this article studies the characteristics and causes of the spatial distribution of the cultural and creative industries in Zhengzhou,which will help solve the problems in its space and guide the rapid development of the industry.This research mainly consists of three parts: The first part is the research foundation,through combing relevant domestic and foreign theoretical research and practical cases,defining the research objects and the categories of cultural and creative industries in Zhengzhou,constructing the logical structure of the research,etc.;The second part is the characteristics and causes of spatial distribution.Based on the analysis of the development status,spatial resources and environmental trends of Zhengzhou’s cultural and creative industries,cultural and creative enterprises are used as the basic unit,and big data of cultural and creative enterprises in the main urban area in 2019 are used as the basic data.And verified through electronic maps and actual surveys to obtain enterprise point distribution maps,and then use GIS spatial analysis methods to study the spatial distribution characteristics and causes of cultural and creative industries from three dimensions: overall,sub-regional,and sub-industry;The third part is the optimization strategy.Aiming at the problems in the cultural and creative industry space in the main urban area of Zhengzhou,the targeted optimization strategies is proposed.The results show that Zhengzhou ’s cultural and creative industry presents a spatial pattern of “agglomeration of old cities,sparse periphery,more in the north,less in the south,and dense in the east and sparsely in the west ”.and the spatial structure characteristics of "three cores,three circles,multiple centers,and axial radiation".It has the distribution characteristics of strong central agglomeration,diminishing circles,suburbanization expansion,and traffic orientation;It presents the differentiated characteristics of industry type,degree of agglomeration and agglomeration form in the dimensions of division and sub-industry.The reasons for the formation of the spatial distribution characteristics of cultural and creative industries mainly include three aspects: policy space,agglomeration effect and location factors.Based on the development status and spatial distribution characteristics of the above-mentioned cultural and creative industries,the study summarized four problems in space: lack of unified planning,lack of spatial branding,low industrial integration,and insufficient resource utilization.Therefore,combining spatial resource conditions and environmental development trends,four targeted strategies are proposed for overall spatial layout optimization,spatial platform competitiveness enhancement,maximum utilization of spatial resources,and industry differentiated location guidance,in order to provide a reference for the development of cultural and creative industries.
