Research On The Quality Training Of Engineering Professional Masters In Local Universities

Since professional degrees graduate education is developed in China,remarkable achievements have been made.A large number of engineering and technical talents have been cultivated,who play an important role in national economic and social development.However,as the engineering problems are becoming more and more complex,it is urgent to cultivate engineering talents more in line with the needs of social development.Local universities bear the great responsibility of the regional economic development,so the engineering professional masters is critical and essential in boosting the regional economy.Nevertheless,there still exists some problems in cultivating the engineering professional masters,such as the lack of practical ability,the homogenization of training with engineering masters,and some discrimination in employment,etc.It is necessary to re-examine the qualities that engineering professional masters should possess.Therefore,research on the quality education in the local universities is of great significance to improve the quality of engineering professional masters,and to provide the better social service.To this end,the research contents of the thesis are mainly as follows.By combining the qualitative method and quantitative method,three terms including quality,engineering professional masters,and local universities are defined respectively on the basis of analyzing domestic and foreign research results on competency model and engineering talents’ cultivating.In order to build an engineering professional masters’ competency model suitable for local universities,the concrete quality items of engineering majors are extracted firstly,and 27 quality elements are obtained in combination with interview.Then,the questionnaire is designed according to concrete quality items obtained above.After the factor analysis of the questionnaire and the test of the reliability validity,the competency model engineering professional masters suitable for local universities is obtained.The model contains15 quality items,and four major capacity qualities which are professional quality,professional quality,practical quality and psychological quality.Based on the quality model,the questionnaire on current situation of quality training is designed.According to the questionnaire data,the countermeasures of talents training are give from the perspective of professional quality,occupational quality,practical quality and psychological quality,aiming to provide some reference for the cultivation of engineering professional masters in local universities.
