Research On The Design Of Nursing Home For The Aged Based On The Elderly’s Environmental Perception

Population aging has become a general trend of global population development,which is also one of the major challenges facing Chinese society.Since the reform and opening up,with the rapid development of China’s economy and the significant improvement of the quality of life,there has been a great imbalance between the ever-increasing demand for pension services and the development of China’s pension industry.When designing the environment of traditional pension institutions,they mostly focus on the actual use level,but do not explore the potential impact of the environment on people from the perspective of environmental perception of the elderly.Starting from the theory of environmental perception and the characteristics of elderly people’s perception system,this paper makes a systematic study on the design of elderly care homes.By using the method of literature review,interdisciplinary research,combined with case analysis and questionnaire survey,this paper makes a systematic study on the design of elderly care homes.First of all,combing the characteristics of physical and psychological perception system of the elderly,combined with the relevant theories of environmental perception,summed up the design requirements for the elderly based on the theory of environmental perception and the characteristics of the elderly perception system;secondly,through the investigation and analysis of the representative nursing homes in Jinan area,the deficiencies of the existing design for the elderly at the level of physical and psychological perception were concluded;thirdly,the design requirements for the elderly based on the theory of environmental perception and the characteristics of the elderly perception system were summarized,Combined with the design needs and current problems,around the visual,auditory,other physiological perception and the psychological perception of safety,social,respect and self realization,this paper summarizes and deduces the design ideas and methods based on environmental perception for the elderly.Finally,these design methods are brought into practice,and the comprehensive application of each space for the elderly is carried out systematically and comprehensively,so as to realize the design It provides a favorable reference for the environmental design of nursing homes in the new era.
