Study On The Appearance Improvement Design Of Old Community Buildings In Wuxi

In the 1970s and 1980s,a large number of urban residences were built in Wuxi.Influenced by the historical background and design concept,such community buildings have high planning density,single appearance form and function,and present the appearance characteristics of determinant as a whole,which is the product of batch replication construction.While these community buildings have basically completed the historical mission of population living,with the development of society,it is difficult to meet the current demand for the quality of human living environment,and more complex problems have emerged.At this time,China’s urban construction model has begun a transition from "incremental" to "inventory development".How to excavate the potential value of the old community,improve the missing functions of buildings,retain the place memory of the old community,and optimize the overall appearance of buildings has become a big problem facing the old community buildings.This paper takes the concentrated residential district built under the welfare housing system in Wuxi city from 1978 to 1991 as the research object,and focuses on the building appearance,and discusses the systematic and feasible improvement design method.On the basis of a full summary of relevant research status,based on environmental design,integrated architecture,sociology and other related disciplines to carry out research on improved design methods.First of all,the social,economic and political background of the construction period of the old community buildings in Wuxi City is sorted out,and the features such as the form,material,color and details of the appearance of the entrance,facade and balcony are classified,so as to clarify the causes of the present situation of the buildings and the historical value of the buildings.Secondly,based on people’s demands for use,the current problems of buildings are summarized into two categories.One is the lack of exterior functions of buildings,including the lack of communication space,the inconvenience of access to indoor space,the lack of equipment platform,and the lack of external window shading.The second category is the mixture of architectural appearance forms,which mainly includes the huge sense of scale of architectural appearance,the unclear relationship between the drawing and the base of architectural appearance,the single form of architectural appearance,and the old damage of architectural appearance materials.Finally,the existing reconstruction methods in Wuxi and other areas of China are fully understood,the advantages and disadvantages are analyzed,and an empirical conclusion is made for the study of this paper.This paper puts forward improvement strategies from four aspects: overall coordinated architectural form design,detailed design to retain memory,material design to combine old with new,and color design to optimize composition.Based on retaining the memory of old community places,it improves functions and optimizes forms.In view of the current problems,the specific design methods of adding communication space at the entrance,beautifying the building with exterior wall decoration,activating the building image on the roof,making up the interior space with balcony and integrating the equipment with exterior Windows are presented.At the end of the paper,the paper takes Jinghai New Village as an example to practice and improve the design theory.The conclusion of this paper can provide some methodology for the appearance improvement design of the old community buildings in Wuxi or other areas.
