With the innovation and development of science and technology, the traffic travel situation of our country has been improved unprecedented, but with the increasing trend of population aging, the travel problems of the elderly in China have also begun to be exposed. How to promote the elderly to enjoy the achievements of scientific and technological progress and share public service resources harmoniously and fairly with other groups has become an important research direction.Waiting is regarded as an important process of the elderly daily travel, which affects the travel experience of the elderly, and brings severe challenges to the development of public transport services at present.Based on this background, the subject uses the relevant theories of scene and mental model as the main theoretical guidance, takes the elderly as the main research group, combs and analyzes the mental changes of the elderly in the waiting scene of public transport,in order to find out the information needs of the elderly in the waiting scene, and explores the mental changes of the elderly in the waiting scene for information receiving, processing and feedback Young people experience the pain point of information in the waiting scene.Firstly, the research background, domestic and international research status and research purpose of mental model, scene and elderly waiting service are analyzed, and the problems and solutions in the process of waiting for the elderly are put forward.Secondly, combined with the design and application characteristics of scene and mental model theory,a scene based mental model design and application method is formed. Then, the elderly in Guangzhou are the main research objects, and the change of waiting position, waiting time and waiting behavior of the elderly in the waiting scene are recorded and analyzed by behavioral observation method. The in-depth interviews are conducted with 10 typical elderly people with typical travel characteristics, and the basic mode, attitude and behavior habit of the elderly waiting for the day are obtained.According to the research results, the elderly group is divided into information agile, language oriented, position priority and auxiliary waiting passenger groups. The mental model is constructed for four main elderly groups. The scene is analyzed in detail according to the mental model. The information needs of all kinds of elderly passengers in waiting scene are obtained. The mapping analysis is made according to the information demand and the bus information service system the design and solution direction of comprehensive, basic and single function bus station kiosks are obtained. On this basis, the paper proposes the design principles for the elderly waiting: to improve the intensity of information cognitive cues guidance;to reduce the cost of acquiring information perception;to improve the information driven behavior efficiency of the elderly waiting scene;to promote positive feedback of emotion in the waiting scene of the elderly. At the same time, the design improvement strategies are put forward for comprehensive, basic and single function bus stops, including design improvement measures such as strengthening on-site information inquiry, enhancing spatial guidance and enhancing emotional value of scene for integrated bus stops;improving measures for basic bus station kiosks to enhance the guidance of space flow, information inquiry and self-efficacy design;single function The improvement measures of the design of the station pavilion are proposed, such as enhancing the information inquiry, enhancing the scene space utilization and the design of the people flow.Taking the basic bus station kiosks as an example, the design practice of information inquiry content, information station sign and spatial guide is carried out respectively,in order to expand the relevant research theory and application field of public transport service.
